National University declared top college ranking in Bangladesh. This is the 2nd time that Colleges ranking among the affiliates of the National University have been published. NU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr. Harun-or-Rashid announced the list during a press conference at its Dhaka office in Dhanmondi area. The National University (NU) listed top five colleges as the best among 685 in the country for their outstanding performances. At the national level among the top five colleges three are situated at Dhaka. Among this ranking the best college is Rajshahi College, best women college is siddheswari Girls’ College and best Private college Dhaka commerce college, Dhaka has been branded. Rajshahi college achieved 1st position for the 2nd time.
This result has given on the basis of students results, teacher’s quality, educational environment & other 31 ground rules. The chancellor said this ranking has declared on the basis of 2016 result. These colleges will be awarded by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Bangabondhu International conference center. It was decided to organized educational convocation program on 12th October, but the date is postponed now. The University is going to celebrates its Silver Jubilee on 25th & 26th October. (source: National University website). According to this ranking SIDDHESWARI GIRLS’ COLLEGE achieved 1st position as the best girls’ college. This college also achieved the best position in Ramna thana back in 2016. SGC achieved huge success on Social Science, English, Management, Marketing & Accounting department. They are also involved in various cultural program like singing, dancing, volleyball playing, debate e.t.c. & got success in the culturel sector too.
Siddheswari Girls’ College from its very inception in 1966 has been playing a key role in women education. A huge number of women educated in this college are now established in various fields of the society. They are contributing to the development of the women community as well as the country. With the span of time, Siddheswari Girls’ College has expanded its academic activities and infrastructure. Now it is grooming up as many as 8000 students (approx.) at Higher Secondary Graduate and Post Graduate Levels. In its long journey, the college has got contribution from its Honorable Principal professor Kaniz Mahmuda Akter and honorable teachers. Recently SGC celebrated its Golden Jubilee.
Siddheswari Girls’ College responding to the call of Honorable Prime Minister to establish a Digital Bangladesh by 2021 is making an all-out effort. It is using Information Technology in achieving academic excellence as well as for women empowerment.
